It's almost all about the owner. Unfixed males are the biggest threat amongst any species but especially pit varieties. I have had pits for decades and have never had an issue with unprovoked violence.

I don't have anything against a dog as long as they don't bother my cats when they are in their yard. I had one couple years ago that thought he was just going to come in our yard and kill my cat. He will not anymore.

ive had 3 pits the only aggressive one was our female staffy she would get bark and show teeth whenever family members would wrestle or say me and the wife where horseplaying,but I believe it was out of protection.althougj there was one day when the female staffy and our 3 year old male american got into it really bad because he was licking her ear,she went at him first and he locked onto the back of her head and wouldnt let go.

sorry but my pit would mall a cangul not bragging but my pit is like the anti Christ when it cums to. a brawl my pit has no fear and can back his attitude up with his skills he's just a little real bad ass and loves a good brawl but he knows not to start a fight. dogs fight that's what they do and those dogs as well won't fight for just no reason mostly it'll be taritorial or ther. will be a female close sum where's.
Pits and a couple of others should be banned. They do most of the attacks against people and other dogs the ones doing the attacking have always been raised right according to owners.

About twice a year I read in the news how a pit bull mauled a kid or some old person to death, always followed with owner saying how gentle the dog was, what a mystery that it did what it was bred to do.
