I always used a Spark Plug Gage. I've heard of some of these back yard shady tree weekend warrior hacks tricks gambling methods. You just need to use the proper tools and methods to do a correct repair thats going to last longer than a couple trips to Bubbas junk yard for parts. lol ha ha ha You will just be hitch hiking more than driving 😆
