Wheelchairs don’t belong CNN on escalators, he should be taking the elevator.
I would have done that as well since I could contribute nothing to help but had places to be.
Everyone in there has something to do. Should everyone just jump over too? It’s entitlement, that behavior like she can’t wait for them to fix it cause she is more important than everyone else. They need to fix the stair so that everyone else can carry on. People supporting this are just as entitled but when it’s them that need people to stop and help and run into someone just as entitled, they throw a fit.
All it would take is two strong guys to carry him up the escalator and someone to carry his wheelchair. What's so bad about this! Help the poor guy, don't stand around wonder what to do next. Geez humanity sucks at times.

I feel bad for anyone who has to be in a wheelchair but everyone's life shouldn't have to get held up so they can do whatever they want. Use a elevator but if u really want to use the escalator then they should wait till they can use it without holding others up.

There are way too many able bodied people who don't see people in wheelchairs or crutches. I've had people walk look me in the eye & still walk right into me, they've managed to kick my crutches because I apparently become invisible when I'm in a large crowd. The woman that climbed over railing, usually have an attitude & think they are more important then others. Some day she'll get what's coming to her.
Anyone unable to help should feel free to go past the way the girl did until help arrived… Stop being so nitpicky

Take the elevator. If there is an escalator, somewhere near is an elevator. Mandatory ADA laws.
Noticing the escalator is not moving, may be electrical causes. If so the elevators might also be stranded. Therefore it would make sense the WC was waiting for assistance, and she didn't want to wait. JS.

if there's an escalator, then there's elevators for handicap people. In America they have to have a way for handicap people to get around to be ADA compliant. I'd imagine most other countries would do the same.
Escalators can be dangerous for people with w/c’s or walkers. At Salt Lake Airport, my walker caught at the end and sent me face down. There were many people who helped me up but I still got bruised. Be careful. No matter how fit, a senior should request assistance at airports. Better safe than sorry.
