prevents spices like chili pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder from clumping, appearing in trace amounts—about 0.0005% of the cooked beef, well below FDA limits of 2%. The beef itself is around 88% meat by weight

an anticoagulant just like in grated cheese you buy sawdust is used they just give it a different name that's why you should always buy your cheese and grate it yourself all fast food places use fillers. as long as we're buying they're going to keep on using it

It's a shame how toxic the food is here. I am a young person and I already have so many nutritional deficiencies and tumors from this junk food.

I love how we're supposed to take these people suing companies (for strictly altruistic reasons of course!) seriously but they can't even take the time to even get their spelling correct! I may not want sand in my tacos but I really don't know if I want 'cocoa power' in them either! Sue these companies to make a fortune and then come back and complain prices are too high to eat out! Hypocrisy at its finest.

Actually it's a water-hydrated silica which is used as a thickening agent in MANY foods .. it is not 'sand' unless it's chemical properties are changed, put under high pressure and mixed with finely divided rock and minerals. So while I agree silica shouldn't be in our foods .. the guy being 'interviewed' is being a typical alarmist spouting half truths.

this is not true. silicon dioxide is derived from sand, but it's a common food additive to prevent clumps. 88% beef. the lawsuit that claimed 33% beef was dropped.

Food scientists finding a way to enhance corporate profits at the expense of healthy ingredients. Europe bans many ingredients that the USA finds generally recognized as safe because the ingredients are not safe.

Yes, Taco Bell's seasoned beef does contain silicon dioxide (often called silica), but it's used as a safe, FDA-approved food additive to prevent the powdered seasonings from clumping, not as a meat filler or "sand," with their beef being 88% USDA-inspected beef mixed with a proprietary seasoning blend. While some ingredients sound like fillers, they're part of the flavor mix, with silicon dioxide acting as an anti-caking agent, similar to how it's used in salt or powdered sugar.

If this is true, where is the FDA??? McDonald’s worker showed a video with magnets 🧲 n the milk shake machine. Costco sells steak with magets in it. I check all my food before I eat it. Pasta sauce will mold Red sauce made with tomatoes 🍅. Check your cheeze also Mold grows everywhere.

googled it and this is wrong. it was a false claim they successfully defended against. its 88% USDA-inspected beef, with the remaining 12% consisting of water, seasonings, and other ingredients like spices, cocoa, and soy to enhance flavor, texture, and moisture
