We couldn't go in inside. If we did we'd have to chores or something. When you were out you were out until the street lights came on. Like wild animals

oh I love her every single word out of her mouth was the truth my mother would get us up even on Saturday mornings and say she had to clean the house and mop the floors she would get us dressed feed us some sort of breakfast or make the oldest kid do breakfast and then throw us outside and tell it's not to come home until lunch where she would be standing on the front porch with sandwiches to pass out because we really weren't allowed in the house unless we had to go to the bathroom and trust me if they had had an outhouse outside that was where we would be going

don't forget piling all the kids in the back of a station wagon or truck with no seat belts. we put our stepfather in the trunk to save on the adult fee at the drive-in

If you were playing outside and wanted a drink of water, instead of going all the way back in the house, you turned on the yard water hose to get a drink. 🤔

Kids think we are exaggerating lol. We definitely are not exaggerating at all! I remember Jarts! The neighbor kids were all at my dad’s house and the neighborhood was our backyard. Home by lights on. Hose water and neglect was the trend I guess

Absolutely, no padding under the monkey bars, roller skates with the key, ring-o-leavia, freeze tag, kick the can, loadies, double dutch all day. When those lights came on you better be in the house.

This is Old School shit right here for real...Not only did we drink from the hose but we drank from the "Johnny Pump", and this is a fire hydrant for those who don't know... I'm a sixties baby...And growing up back then was so much better than how kids are growing up today..Kids today are so soft and delicate and emotional as hell...Back in the days growing up was so much better than how kids are growing up today...

If you got hurt while outside, you rubbed some dirt on it and get moving. Bike ramps were made.out of would and bodies. Lawn darts were thrown high in the sky and you took off running. Water hoses were you're sinks and the best tasting water ever! National them played every night and the TV stations went off the air.
