Family estrangement is extremely common among people experiencing homelessness and is one of the deepest sources of hopelessness on the streets. When you talk to someone who is homeless, ask about their family—and offer to help them reconnect. Old wounds can heal. Even when relationships ended badly or years have passed, forgiveness often becomes possible when someone is ready to come home.

I've been homeless the last 18 years. I hear where everyone is coming from...yes, I often wished no contact whether shame, my personal mental issues etc. I feel though for me, I am the last of my line at 42yrs old...and if anyone wanted me as me? and only speaking for myself they'd already have made themselves know. it's not like I've been hiding. my name is Lee Brian Kaser (Burndt at birth but I was adopted), I'm originally from East Lansing, Mi and lived near MSU growing up. I left MI 20 years ago and I only leave my information here on the off chance someone might prove me wrong. Anywho, hope everyone has a great rest of the day.
