My first day on the job some old framer came over to the job , saw me trying to drive a nail , all choked up on the wood handle , So he took it and cut half the handle off and handed it back to me ,, I was stunned! Said well you wasn’t using the whole thing anyway. That Oldman ( probably 32 at the time and me 18 ) came back over with a 24 oz rigging axe and said if going to be a framer and drive nails you will need this Still got that axe And learned a few things about people since 1974 And it drives 16 sinkers In one or two licks still
if you did to me you would have to figure out how to get home with the valve stems missing on your truck or car
I told this guy that his Milwaukee drill wasn't working fast enough because he needed to put the drill bids in dry water and the next day he tells me he couldn't find dry water at Ace or home Depot or anywhere 😆😆😆
😆😆 I'm a Journeyman Plumber and I sent an Apprentice to ask the Foreman for a bucket of A.I.R one day. The boss was pissed we were wasting time on the job site.
I told a laborer to bring a box of water to the spot we took our breaks. Dude out did the whole idea he emptied a gang tool box put a big piece of plastic vapor barrier. taped it inside and filled it with 4 5gal cans of water. This was on a construction site in Antarctica .We called newbies FNGYS or rather fucking new guys.
Young people today don't tolerate hazing. That's one of the few things about the new generation I approve of.
I once sent a kid up to the shop to get a 2x4 stretcher he was gone a half hour before he came back with out it he said he couldn't find it.
