I unfortunately know how that young girl feels. my mom is a master manipulator and has always been able to pull herself together around other people besides her children. she's a completely different person to us in front of her own parents. but she had this ability to push and poke me until I split and reacted then all of a sudden I was the problem
So my mom did this as well the day I was arrested she called on me because for the first time I fought back and whooped her ass she had me up against the wall by my throat my mom had tried to strangle (I was turning blue) me years before I told the cops what happened I still went to jail
the mom definitely did something for the daughter to react that way. as someone with bpd i can 100% understand this situation. yes the daughter was out of control in the moment but the mother did tell the police she has bpd. trying to restrain a child while they are in an episode will lead to more resistance. it’s better to no restrain them and try to be as calm and understanding as possible. never seem as if your judging them or taking sides because it will make things worse.
bipolar disorder doesn’t come from nothing, although it’s a horrible and super tough diagnosis, when she said her moms the problem she meant it, personality disorders come from trauma or genetics which would explain her saying “my moms the problem” she most likely passed it down to her daughter, there’s so much more to this. the mom seems narcissistic.
