In the past, I absolutely would! Nowadays, you can't trust anyone, altho I would have said it a lot nicer.
I would help, I’m not afraid, I did the same thing over the summer while outside with my K9, a guy on a Harley heading down the road to the closest gas station had his ride run out of gas right in front of my house, gave him enough gas to get to the gas station. The next day I went out to mow our fields and found a note on all 4 of our gas cans saying thank you and all 4 cans are full! These weren’t little cans either!
Help out the guy who is trying to get home to his family
Better to be safe than sorry nowadays. Sad , but you never know. Only takes a few seconds to get in trouble. Others may be out of sight.
If I seen a motorcycle outside and he could prove it was his and not stolen, I'd give him money for gas instead of him being stranded, I help a tiny,goofy looking Asian guy out driving a van a couple of weeks ago that I could barely understand what he was saying,he ran out of gas,after first telling him no because he was parked in front of a gas pump, after I filled up, I went and asked how he got to the gas pump,he said he ran out right there and pulled next to the pump hoping someone would help him,because otherwise if someone gave him gas money, he then would then have to find someone to help push his heavy full sized van to the pump, because it was fuel injected,I looked at his gas gauge, it was mty, he lived 10 miles away, I told him I will put $20 in his van, but if his gauge didn't move after the first $5 dollars,he is not getting anymore gas, his gauge worked so I put the whole $20 in his tank
Call the responsible law enforcement in the jurisdiction and have a patrol unit sent out to resolve this out of fuel situation. Don't take chances and get close to the suspect.

I normally help all the time, but lately many crime’s been happening and even one of my neighbor got hit. These guys may play nice, but could be eyes for their partners or themselves. So, no more opening doors to anyone I don’t know. Period! Unless my two Malinois checks him out and surrounding areas first, then I point something at his face so he doesn’t move at all. If there’s no bike and a there’s a waiting car, he’s eaten and the car’s a target practice. 😆

Call Police !! It has happened to us and there was a truck in the street with several people waiting for us to answer the door . Police caught them … up to no good . Late like thatt is too dangerous .

I would have got the gas can and put outside the door after making him walk to the sidewalk or road before opening the door.

I think I would have told him where my lawn tractor gas can was....next to my locked shed...and to help himself. If you refused aid...he may do some art work on your nice red Jeep on the way out. Its a damned shame folks now days can't give a helping hand when needed for fear of being attacked or worse. The human race has turned into untrustworthy dangerous scumbags...you can't let your guard down for a minute. Hell of a way to have to live. 😢
I'm divided. Like others, its not 1965 anymore and thugs will ser a trap. Then again , he might be some poor fella in real need and I would want to help but I gotta think of My family too. perhaps a $20 thru the window or door? in any event id have some backup with me. I hope he got the help he needed .

I’ve had two people come up to my door in the past asking for gas. I have a gas can inside of the house. I have driven them down to their vehicle put gas in it and sent them on their way.

He should have given the poor guy 5 bucks worth of gas out of your lawn mower just so he can get Home. People nowadays need to be good to each other. There's too much hate in the world. If everyone treated each other with kindness, maybe there would be less crime.I understand you need to be cautious , but he seemed sincere. I feel sorry for the poor guy 🙏💕
