Farm kids learn early.
my dad taught me how to drive in the pasture with a 3 speed on the steering column at 12 yrs old in a 57 Ford pickup. Got my first car at 14. I really miss those days 😪
My sister's first time: Dad walked out of the house wearing a crash helmet. Wore it the whole time.
yes!!! good memories. i let my kids drive down and up the road. it's on dirt road in country
look at the smile on that baby's face
She will never forget her daddy taught her how to drive in a corn maze. Great memories 💕
taught all my children in a cemetery...😆
Core memory unlocked. Good job Dad
I wish my parents had taken the time to teach me to drive. I still don't have a license.
mine was on a farm tractor
SHE'LL GET IT! 👍👍
I was 10 and learned to drive in the Oklahoma hay Fields in the 70's. Was driving 8 miles to a job near my home for extra money to save at 12. I saved enough money to buy a 1966 Chevy truck at the age of 14. Started my own hay hauling business the summer of 1977 and made enough to purchase a 1972 Mustang. Things were so much different back then.
I did this with my grandson and my granddaughter, but they weren’t alone in the vehicle. I was sitting next to them. My grandson did an awesome job at 14 years old. He drove like a pro.
it's where we learned so we could drive grain trucks during harvest. 🥰
My daughter learned to drive when she was 8 years old. She drove a 1 ton crew cab truck pulling a hay wagon with her baby brother riding shot gun. She drove and my husband and I loaded the hay.🥰🥰🥰
Yup Grandma and grandpa had a 49 Pontiac taught me the clutch and gears turned me loose on the prairie told me it was just like riding a horse turn right or left brakes push down foot there were no seat belts in those days either
1954 Ford, going to berry patch and coming back from berry patch. Mom said she needed me to learn how to drive in case she got snake bit! That was in early 1960's.
My dad used to take us to a mall in bad weather, freezing, snow, sleet, rain..... on Sundays, when they used to be closed ( now, maybe in the mornings on Sundays might work) to learn what it feels like in each and learn to steer into slides, until they caught and gently pulled the wheel back to the direction we were heading... Never got stuck, even in the multi state blizzards, the two times I went to nw Florida, from upstate New York. It was supposed to be rain both times and turned to snow after a half hour of driving.🤷♀️ I got behind Sanders and Plows most of the trips, staying far enough away as to not irritate.. I would get off the interstate, when they did and would haul ass to the bathrooms and back out, to be ready to take off when they did, or another set caught up to them to do a certain distance... Worked really well for me and ended up getting a Motel in Huntsville Alabama because I was so exhausted from all that white knuckling driving....It was intense in some areas, not
I learned to drive in reverse in our field while picking up rocks!! Good old days ❤️
I learned how to drive in a stick shift old Corvair on a dirt road. Everyone deserves a chance to learn from their dad!
way to go young lady
🥰 great memory
I'm not gonna judge here .No one knows their kids like their parents. I thought my kids young and early. We also lived on a farm. My self id never do first drive without me inside the truck. I had one of my 4 daughters who pressed the gas then froze in fear. To the point I was saying break and she was pushing the pedal to the floor her brain didn't register it was the gas and not the break . I was able to knock her foot off the gas pedal . All was well. So not all kids respond the same. Farm life is great. 👍
I drove the driving instructor's nuts. For the first time backing up, I've never seen somebody do it straighter. It's a breeze when you ain't got a hay wagon or gravity box behind you trying to line up.
I helped my dad for years driving a tractor and a farm truck. Driving a car was a lot easier.
I don't agree
I learned 2 drive with a '59 3 speed on the column on the ranch
12 years old, I’m in the front passenger seat, Dads driving the maroon Pontiac. Central Illinois where there corn as far as you can see. Pull over on this old dirt country road and said “sugar, I want you to drive and I did. 🥰
I absolutely love the excitement on her face. That's a moment of a lifetime , good dad teaching her👍💕
That’s awesome, but she should have a seatbelt on. Did you see her almost hit the steering wheel with her face when she hit the gas Still, this is awesome
all my kids learned to drive in my pasture with preran demolition cars.
She is so cute and you can see her excitement! Great way to teach children, away from the city first! Hope she made it!!
My dad took me to hay field an told me to miss the stacks of hay. I had a blast
n u should b in the car to shes to young
That's how I learned to drive . 15 acres of land. So much fun. Just had to watch for tree's.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY BROTHERS LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A TRUCK THAT WAS THREE ON THE TREE. THEY LOVED IT AND I THOUGHT IT WAS COOL. THANK YOU DAD FOR DOING THAT FOR US HE'S IN HEAVEN NOW WATCHING OVER US. MY MOM AND DAD DID THE BEST I COULD WITH POOR BOYS. I HAVE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES OF THOSE DAYS.🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍
When I was a teenager, my boyfriend at the times grandparents taught me how to drive the farm truck in the field. Oh the memories!!! So glad i grew up before the internet. That baby girls grin says it all!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Good job, Sis.... I was driving at the age of 5 sitting on a 5 gallon bucket (couldn't see over the steering wheel) steering our half ton truck while my Daddy fed the cattle in the back...🥰🛻🐮👢
I had a 75 Honda hatch back my 2 girls was like 12 and 9 we went to Abby I got fked up my girls drove me home I taught them to drive in the hills of tenn and thay never looked back now their in their 30s and very good drivers .
I was 9-10 yrs old when my dad would let me drive in the horse racing tracks parking lots…… good times!! That’s a memory that I will die with
she'll remember that day forever. look at that smile!!
mine was 75 years ago....nice memory..👍
C'mon Dad that wasn't even a football field 👍🤔🤔🤔
Awww, what sweet memories this stirred up of me and the girls..❤👍
Great fun - First step is always seatbelt. Teach them from the get go AND it will be second nature.
Any normal person "adult" teaching another person to drive should be inside the car with them not outside of it. What happens if she steps on the gas and takes off and can't hear you yelling brake brake brake
thats how i learned driving the truck pulling the hay wagon
hope she doesn't smash her lip
After the corn is picked.
I learned how to drive when I was 7 on a farm in Colorado picking up hay bails. My dad wired wooden blocks to the clutch and breaks. He used the choke for the gas.
Great Father 🥰🥰🥰
very gdmx style country kid style.
my uncle did this with me when I was about this girl's age. It's still one of my favorite memories from when I was a kid. But I learned in the orchards not the corn🥰🙏
should of gave her a couple pillows to sit on so she could see better 🤔
mine was not on a farm but it was definitly a feild
We had mini bikes, go carts, 4 wheelers and dirt bikes first and I'm a city boy. When it came time to start driving cars I was a natural.
when we were really little, one would reach the pedals and the other kid would steer.
a field, with bushes, and an old car. you can hear when you get too close to the bushes!
She's not wearing a seat belt
good job
she needs a pillow 🙏👍💕
great job 👏👏
that includes 15 and 16yr olds
love this💕 that’s the way we all learned I was more than likely about 12
I taught my kids in the boat first, then at-home on the gravel roads. now I just fish in the boat, and rest in the pickup
