I've never heard of someone allergic to fish.....that seems a little sus. Also, he has other food on the tray, eat that, and stop complaining. If you want good meals to eat, don't go to jail.

I get that they're incarcerated and that they're being punished for their crimes but they're still human beings and if this man is allergic to fish then there's so much cross contamination that it wouldn't be the thing to do to tell him to eat around it

In prison THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO NOT TO ACCOMMODATE IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, THEY MUST GIVE HIM SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND IT MUST BE SEPARATE FROM WHAT HE IS ALLERGIC TO HE'S ALLOWED TO HAVE A SPECIAL MEAL.

When you first walk into the prison system, you are asked several times what is your religion and what are you allergic to. They have special diets and kosher meals. They don't serve pork in prison at all. He must have told them he wasn't allergic to anything because they would've gave him Peanut butter and jelly or kosher meal.

fish Friday every week in the county I live in. If you have allergies you have to blue kite a nurse tell them and you will get double Mac and cheese, or potatoes it rotates every week.
Yes FISH ALLERGY IS A REAL THING...So isnt sesame seeds, nuts, eggs,milk and many more. Guard couldve shown some decency and at least asked. Guy was asking nicely. I wish they served more fish there because fish is a very good brain food. Perhaps better diets outside the pen wouldve returned less men and women to it. just sayin

I know a great way for the state to save money on meals for inmates and prisoners of every jail in prison in the country. All the wild boars throughout the country especially in Texas Louisiana Georgia, all the wild boars could be rounded up slaughtered for food. it would save the environment by eliminating the problem that is tearing up Farmer's grounds and give food for the prisoners they either eat it or starve to death
For those of you thinking you can't die from being allergic to fish....or think he can "eat around it" are totally nuts. I remember years ago , my friends daughter had a school trip. They were going to Red Lobster. She told her she couldn't go because she knew she was allergic. Her daughter was so mad , said she wouldn't order anything with fish. She said it's not that simple, there's cross contamination, people may not be washing their hands completely, or switching gloves after making something with fish in it, right before making your food. They make mistakes in restaurants all the time. I know you've heard of little kids getting served alcohol. That happens all the time.....so if you've got vegetables and the you plop some fish in there, how would somene determine what the fish touched or didn't touch in order NOT to die?π₯ΆππΎ
I f he has an allergy to a certain food,he cannot eat anything on that tray due to cross contamination which means,that guard could be charged with negligence due to he was advised and ignored the request.
well if you weren't in jail you could be having whatever you wanted ..looks to me you can eat the other stuff on your tray as well..beinin jail ain't for everyone π
there are plenty of people who are allergic to different foods... now the prison system knows that and will give u an alternative meal... however all he has to do is sign up for sick call and let the Dr/nurse know u are allergic... they in turn will document that in ur record and he will never have that issue again...

I'm allergic to shellfish and I always told the jail I was allergic to fish when I got locked up but nobody ever served fish before so I didn't have any problems. if they did serve fish I wouldn't complain about it though. I would sell the tray for a soup or I would give it away for free to somebody that didn't get any canteen
i have never been to a prison in 17 years I did that didnt have substitute meals.

Actually they would call the nurses station to verify he is allergic to what he is claiming to be allergic to. if its not in the nurses paper work he can kick rocks if it is then another tray is to be issued
