Start young teaching. It's not always having sit down time to do it. When they are just talking, stop immediately and have repeat when spoken incorrectly. Point out colors and shapes while cooking and giving out snacks. Teaching counting while doing laundry counting socks, towels, tee-shirts. Interact doing everyday tasks with teaching moments that's a side benefit of monitoring, education and bonding. Stop giving toys to hopefully keep them busy. Your time spent with them will be remembered long after the toys are gone.
