My heart breaks for him. I didn't want my son to go into the Marines but the recruiter said he will be safe and will have all these benefits! I wished I would have barred the door as my son would be alive today. He passed at the age of 25 after being exposed to the burnpits in Iraq for months. He was a non-smoker and Martial Arts instructor. He passed from lung cancer that spread throughout his body and made holes the size of baseballs in his hips. The care he received at Balboa Hospital in CA was terrible!! There are rows and rows of cemetery monuments with young people's names! I am raising 4 grandsons and if any recruiter calls, I tell him that all he cares about is getting his numbers and never to call us again! My husband served in the Navy and has had testicle cancer from being in Guam and a glioblastoma brain tumor from being exposed to Agent Orange while on a ship by Vietnam.
