why is everyone justifying this with the fact the waters were delivered, by hand, up flights of stairs. you guys do understand the person paid for delivery. thats an extra charge to deliver 1 case or 100 cases of water to their door. delivery charge. not delivery charge and also help yourself to the product.

I do Instacart and I'd NEVER take a bottle of water or anything from customers orders. I have my own ice water, coffee and food before I start delivering in the am.

You shouldn't steal. Bring something to drink. If the person who ordered it was home and offered, then accept. But it's not okay to steal. Especially when you're being paid for your time and representing a company and an industry.

Really...you want to post this and complain someone who just walked up 4 flights of stairs multiple times to deliver 300+ pounds of water and groceries took a couple bottles of water??? As someone who has delivered a few orders like this one, don't complain. Don't be so petty. I nearly had a heart attack from this type of order in the heat of the summer. I didn't and wouldn't take anything like that. But I don't blame them for needing water. They probably didn't have any with them. Its about 30 cents out of your pocket and you probably didn't tip them anyway.

honestly I probably wouldn't care but it is technically stealing. its someones property that they bought and paid to have delivered on top of it all. when I order something to be delivered I expect it to be there fully intact and the complete order/product.

There is a difference between taking/ stealing) and asking/ receiving! Had she asked, this person may have freely given without thought, but stealing is stealing - even a bottle of water. I was raised to NEVER take ANYTHING that doesn’t belong to me.
The delivery person clearly did not steal the water, the person taking the picture did. The deliverer was already gone .
