this story is so sad. shes 79 and her husband pressed charges after she hit him in the head with a hammer. he pressed charges after 10 similar incidents within the 11 months prior to this incident. Mrs. Collins spent 10 days in jail before the community rallied to get her in to a memory care facility and out of jail. so she can get the proper care and to limit anything like this happenening again. sad this happened but atleast there was somewhat of a happy ending

Seems off. I’m sure she is confused but why exactly did the husband walk into the house with a hammer held up? How did she get hit with the hammer in her arm? If she was the one that hit him in the head? She says he is the meanest man ever… she doesn’t recall him as her husband she thinks he is somebody that her parents have come to the house for stuff that needs done… so she knows him as that and says he is very mean the meanest she ever met. Probably a lot more to the fucking story. Do people know how often serious abuse happens from this? And I don’t mean the wife hurting him and him pressing charges each time…

She clearly has some traumatizing memories that are returning. But she needs to be in a nursing home.

My Dad had dementia and I was his caregiver… Growing up he was a HARD A$$!!! The more his dementia took over the more of a teddy bear he became… My Grandma who raised 7 kids & many grandchildren and great grandchildren… the SWEETEST most soft spoken woman anybody has ever met… BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE AND JUST MEAN… until my Aunt took her a baby doll. INSTANTLY SHE TURNED INTO A MOMMA AGAIN. I wish I could say there was never any issues with her again, BUT SHE STARTED TRYING TO BREAST FEED IN THE COMMONS AREA 😆 I am SO GRATEFUL I GOT TO BE AT HOME WITH MY PARENTS when they passed… The HARDEST JOB IVE EVER HAD BUT WE STILL HAD MANY LAUGHS TOGETHER AND I WAS BLESSED ENOUGH TO NOT MISS A SINGLE ONE ❤️ I miss them EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY 😔

Listen to what she is saying.That poor woman is reliving something from her past. Kind of like when my Uncle, from my mother's side, used to chase me around the kitchen table. Never caught me but it wasn't from lack of trying.
how could a woman with dementia even be sent to jail. What country are we living in, she's obviously confused and a judge could not get her into the correct facility.

This is heartbreaking. Our elderly people need help. Why do people not care about the elderly? Its not something that is avoidable. Do people think they wont live that long and it wont happen to them? This is something I never understood.
can't put charges on someone like that,dementia make you forget, sad to say but nursing home or senior care facility it only option jail ain't even option ,medical records show dementia
It's so sad I prayed that a cure can be found for this disease. It's an old saying once an adult and twice a child. 💕

clearly a GED education is not to enough to deal with this type of situation but a GED education sure does get a lot of yes men out there those domestic enemy types that act under the color of law and abuse our rights yeah one day we're just going to have to say man treat them like foreign enemies put them in the ground save our country
