Back when it was ok to laugh at each other.
The Johnny Carson show was the best ever! He had the most talented guests there, and there were always plenty of laughs and great entertainment! I miss those days!
Back when comedians were funny.

I wonder if he'd be canceled in today's climate?
Buddy Hackett was the dirtiest comedian ever! Look up some of his stand up routines.
I wish you could find any of Buddy Hacket's standup concerts online or on any streaming service. I remember my mom letting me stay up late to watch all the comedians when HBO first came out. Buddy Hacket, George Carlin, Richard Pryer and Robin Williams molded my sense of humor as a kid and it's stuck through adulthood. I remember seeing him in multiple movies growing up but just one stand up concert that I thought as a kid was the funniest shit ever even the stuff I didn't understand. I only remember watching it and some joke he told about an alligator. I was only 7 or 8 when I saw watched it and have never seen a repeat or another showing of that show and only know it came out around the same time as Robin Williams first HBO special.
Johnny just loved the heck out of Buddy Jacket and why not he was so funny he brought a special light to the show and the home audience.
Hackett was hilarious 馃尭
Buddy was one of the Great Comedian
We need to let them tell these jokes today
and no foul language, wow!
used to watch him all the time and one thing he never did would make something political he refused anything like that
buddy hacket was hilarious
Damn, times have really changed. 馃槳
I love Buddy Hackett a lot. He told the funniest jokes and he also told on Johnny Carson, the most poignant family story I have ever heard. He was a fabulous guy and very well liked when he came on. I started laughing. You鈥檙e arresting any eternal peace and performing in G/d鈥檚 nightclub. 馃尭

Carson always had great entertainment on the Tonight Show. He had funny guests on as well as a great variety of talented people in the industry. And though he could poke fun at a politician or something dumb that was said or done by someone in politics he was never nasty about it and he never made politics a regular thing on his show. Not like the late night hosts on TV nowadays who basically are so obvious in their messaging and have stopped being funny a long time ago.
