A hero for his daughter for sure. Nobody knows what his true intentions were, as he came in swinging a bat. Although it's sad that he had a mental illness that lead to his untimely death, he brought it on himself. Mental illness cannot be used as an excuse to commit crimes, violent or otherwise. Just because something can be sort of understood better for all to grow, learn and understand better, doesn't make it an excuse for the crimes committed.
