HOT

There is a redundant circuit through the oil pressure switch that will keep the fuel pump running, without the relay or a bad relay. The truck will run without the battery hooked up because the alternator will keep it running. You have a bad ignition switch.

if that's a yukon there's another gas pump relay under the driver dash behind the fuse panel in a row of 3 relays.

well I can't really explain it to you somewhere along the line you've got a short between the alternator and one of the energizing systems to the ignition and the alternator is actually keeping it running just like the old 68 to 7680. it's not hard to explain now why it's doing it I can't tell you but that's what's happening the energizing of the system is being done by the alternator

or someone put mothballs inside of his gas tank which changes the octane of the fuel which will make the truck keep running until either the fuel runs out or the motor melts

There is a difference between the ignition switch and the key switch. The key switch activates the ignition switch. If ign switch contacts stick on car runs.

okay the key not being in the ignition, I can turn my car on without the key being in the ignition. once my car is on I can disconnect all of the electronic systems under the hood and the engine will still run. I guess some people were just born stupid.

Dont ask public school teachers or college professors! They only know up to the grade of a 5th grader in reading, writing, and real time basic arthmetic! Also, most public school teachers and college professors are not smarter than 5th graders in those areas! Google it yourself!

Seems like two things are happening here. The ignition cover is all off, so there’s probably a short in there, which way is the ignition turned? And someone already wrote in the comments, alternator is pushing the electric current, positive and negative.
