Nope i'm not going to wear shoes because of that jerk, that put it there, you just have to be more mindful of where you are and was it on public or private, but still, nobody owns the ocean.

My parents were adamant we wear shoes when wading or swimming in the river near our cabin. My elder sister has her head in the clouds I guess. I remember her boyfriend carrying her back to camp, dripping blood from her foot. (she was 14yrs older than me) My mom drove her to the doctor. She was on crutches for weeks. Something like 114 stitches to sew the sole of her foot on. I never made the same mistake even though I loved to go barefoot as a teenager. In water, shoes on, to this day.

I hate to break it to you but with a board like that not even shoes are going to protect you. you need like combat level boots and even then you might still get stuck. you just have a better chance of an organized mess instead of chaos
