It can be shut down all u gotta do is put a piece of cardboard or something to block the intake and it will shut itself down you can’t keep running without oxygen cut off the air and it’s done choked out

Back in the "OLD" days, some trucks came with an "EMERGENCY CUT OFF." A cable that activated a "butterfly" cutoff on the air intake.

seen this many times turbo oil seal fails to the intake side pumps engine oil into the turbo intake air stream through the cac into the intake if the engine holds together till all the oil is depleted crank and rod bearings seaze. nuff said😳😳😳

Set the air brakes, stomp on the brake pedal and hold it, put it in 5th or 6th gear and dump the clutch, it may diesel a bit, but it'll die.
Quickest Way to Shut That down is to Throw a Towel into the Turbo. No Air, No Combustion. Sure it'll Destroy the Turbo but ... it's Gonna Self Destroy itself AND the entire Engine. So..... JUST DO IT!

Just block off the air and the engine will stop. How do I know this?? I was a trucker for 32 years and have had 3 runaways and saved all 3 motors with out major damage to the block or heads.
this happens mostly when the wrong oil is used in this engine you need a diesel rated oil ,they probably used an oil for gas engines and too low of viscosity, it just part it and get back until its done
when I build my diesel as a race truck definitely putting a air intake shut off valve to shut down if God forbid I'm in this situation.
A garbage bag over air intake would have shut it down.

pull the fuse, turn the distributor 180 degrees clockwise. switch off fuel pressure and push in the deturbulator function control switch. wait three seconds. repeat.if necessary. your welcome 👍

you have to kill the oxygen intake that way if you don't have oxygen you don't have fire well there isn't but three things that make those engines run to begin with that's fuel fire and oxygen ( air)
