There was a story a few years back about new uniforms for FA that caused severe injuries/illnesses bc of chemicals used to dye the uniforms.

Retired FA here. They do NOT have the authority to delay a flight...ever, only the pilot or ground crew has that authority! If there is a cabin problem, they report it to the pilot or ground, and they will make that very important decision!
