down shifting is always better, makes your brakes last longer.
u reverse the gears just upside to the way u went forward with them say u come up on a stop sign u see it 200 ft ahead your in 5th gear and u know you are going to have to slow down u start down shifting from 5th gear then fourth gear then 3 d gear and etc by the time you stop you will be in 1st gear ready to take off again once you b stop. got it babe
I actually do a both 😅
you roll it in neutral so your transmission is not being strained by sitting there trying to slow the vehicle down by gearing it down I put more wear and tear on the brakes
there are many answers. some people say downshifting to help you slow down will save on your brakes and some people say just throw neutral and put the brake on. in my opinion if you allow yourself plenty enough time to stop I always put in a neutral and slow down because you get a lot of people that will try to downshift to help them slow down and they downshift too soon and they cause transmission problems or clutch problems. the manual transmission was the first thing I learned to drive on and I just make sure I give myself plenty of time to stop and throw it neutral
depends on the curves
Depends on if it has a V8 with loud exhaust or not
Downshift if I’m up to speed, I’ll toss it in neutral and brake if I’m rolling slow already.
it's all about the shifting down shifting slightly touching the brakes
just put in in neutral 😁
don't reverse to stop.
both
down shift always 😁
downshifting
gear down
I drove a school bus, I'd down shift the initial braking, and brake from there, in winter with snow or ice covering the road I would put the bus in neutral or else the wheels would lock-up and skid, I do the same in my automatic daily driver in the wintery conditions
Either one is fine with shifting down save your brakes
down shift
down shift
nutral👍
Throw it neutral
down shift
if you're driving an old school car with drum brakes you downshift, modern cars you neutral and break.
Alexis your beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰
down shift for sure
both
neutral
The correct answer would be you press on your clutch and put your shifter in neutral and only use a break to slow down , now if traffic starts moving, then I look at my speed to see where I’m at as far as what gear I’m gonna use to keep going
you can down shift but n then break probably better on your transmission but in a big rig you cant ride the n so down shift is my answer
Gorgeous
it depends on how fast I'm going and what I'm stopping at I'll do both
downshifting is better but I hate it.
Use the gears! I got a cdl too
I’m a truck driver I downshift when I slow down
depends on what im driving...Silverado, I roll into nuetral...Firebird...gear down to bark the tires some...still a kid from a small town mentality...😂😂😂😂
pop in neutral and brake ...what's of wearing down ur gears in down shifting
Using neutral takes all the fun out of it. YOU GOTTA JAKE BRAKE😂😂
depends on road conditions...load..weight of vehicle and above all....other traffic
depending on how fast I'm going
Downshift through the gears
downshifting is best but every situation is different
I just put it in neutral
depends on traffic and how it's moving. usually I'll just use third to slow down then go to first. if traffic is crawling I'll just let it coast.
What's the point of having gears? If you don't use them
I have done both. prefer to down shift
down shift .. it'll save your brakes for sure
depends
neutral and brake 😭 downshift puts wear on your clutches and motor
Always down shift...slows vehicle WITHOUT using the brakes...especially when off-roading...keeps vehicle from sliding and losing tire contact with the dirt or rock surface...I have the ORIGINAL 4 disc brakes on my '97 Honda Prelude that has a 5-speed and 250 ponies from a 2.2 liter...
downshift & save your brakes.
you down sift
Downshift baby
I always down Shift
I down shift to help slow down.
