HIPPA only applies to businesses and employees linked to Healthcare. Not even law enforcement is bound by HIPPA laws and they are first responders.

Dude, if it's something you signed when you got hired then you are the one breaking the "contract" giving them a valid reason to fire you. And this sounds fake as can be. Do better.

HIPPA law is not YOU giving medical info. it would be if a 3rd party gave your info. Also, in most places, employers can ask for documentation of you have been out for more than 3 days

hipaa protects your medical information from being shared without your consent. It doesn't cover for you when you dont want to go to work. If its company policy to get a doctors note, you need the doctors note. A note that simply says you went to the doctor isnt part of your medical information.

Indirect retaliation. Prepare for check-ins and check outs, aka CACOs. You'll need to send your boss goals for the day, record every event, detail your process of work, compile everything, and email it to your boss every day. He'll find "opportunities," which he only needs 3 to fire you. Your job just got more difficult. They'll press you til you give up or slip up. Start looking for a new job if you don't treat your career like a career.

hippa laws apply to healthcare workers and regard around not releasing your information WITHOUT your consent. no such laws are in place to prevent them from requesting a dr note.

I see both sides of this, sometimes you just need to stay home and take some meds. The other side you have people who will use this because they are dodging something at work.

Most places only require a "doctor note" after 3 days out sick and that note doesn't violate any HIPPA laws it simply says you were under a doctor's care on a specific date... You just don't want to work...💯

Any business can ask for a doctor’s note if your calling out excessively. One to two call outs is not considered excessive.

Put doctor's behind me after them going against the Nuremberg Code and Hippocratic Oath during COVID. People are slow to learn about how the Rockefeller Family destroyed medical smarts in 1913 to du.b down America. IT'S COMING THOUGH, COMMON SENSE WILL RETURN 😉

You cannot ask what is wrong with an employee, but if the handbook says you need a doctor’s note, then provide one. If an employee is good multiple days then provide one, if the employee is frequently sick they will typically need to supply one.

Folks can't afford to go to a Dr. with all the coinsurance costs/co-pays and deductible costs it is unaffordable. Make it affordable.

I was feeling really bad and ask if I could take half a day to go to urgent care. I was told no or I'd get a point if I left. I went to urgent care who sent me to ER. Told my Dr what happened. After reading my chart and knowing it would be an issue with my job he signed papers to submit to job. I have been out for 6 months with pay....😅

I have PTO ..paid time off to use as I see fit. Mental health is just as important as physical health. I am the kind of employee that usually doesn't use all there PTO. But I need a day to keep my sh@t together..Im taking it!! I have a the right..Jobs don't own you...they rent your services. Believe you me, no matter what the employee hand book states it's business policy is. If they fire you and its doesn't fall within the states guidelines your getting paid either way..unemployment. In which case If your state offers further training or education programs..Please take advantage of them. So you no longer have to deal with minimum wage BS.

I would think that the only time people would have to get a doctors note is calling in sick more than once then it becomes a problem! If your sick more than once in a year then there's a big problem!

Ask AI. Yes, an employer can ask for a doctor’s note in many cases. •No, they usually don’t have to for a single sick day—unless company policy allows it. •In Texas, the employer has more discretion than in some other states.

so if you wake up with a sore throat, instead of taking some asprin and a bit of hot tea with honey, you should go to the emergency, and pay a couple hundred $$ because of course the dr needs you to have an appt first... fk that policy!!

wrong dude. a company has EVERY right to see a Dr. note or not pay you for your "sick" day. and if you break their rules they can write you or even fire you. the Dr. note does not break HIPPA law you dont need to tell them what's wrong only that you went to the Dr. and are cleared to return to work
