I know it is healthy for those with dementia. I’ve never been told about the toxicity and am fairly healthy. However, I have eaten them in volume for many years during the holidays.

Brazil nuts are high in Selenium which can be toxic and cause kidney failure. I’m 54 and never knew this. We used to love cracking them open and eating them. But like anything else, it increases the RISK of toxicity just like smoking increases the risk of lung cancer. Everyone that smokes doesn’t get lung cancer, but it increases the risk.
Since when are you only supposed to eat two Brazil nuts a day? I ate them like crazy when I was a kid and I never poisoned myself. I bet this sprung up by some Gen Z Democrat didn't it.

I'm having a hard time believing that you're only supposed to eat two of these nuts when I went to my grandmother's house as a kid she used to have bowls of mixed nuts out I would eat the Brazilian nuts out of them all the time and at no point did I ever become ill or have any problems

My Moma would remove them from the mix and throw them away because of the ignorance of other people. She refused to have people refer to them by "THAT" name around her kids. She raised us to love everyone and to never "judge a book by it's cover" This was in the 70's and she got a lot of backlash for how she was raising her children. But I love her for how she raised me🥰🥰🥰

I ate them as a kid. But now I'm allergic to them. Also, walnuts they were my favorite. But now my tongue and throat will swell up. Makes it hard to breathe. Benadryl helps. But I just stay away from them.
