12. There are videos of everything that can support our story, which I can send to anyone who wants to help with our situation.
11. It is clear that Eric’s actions were intended to make it appear as though we had voluntarily canceled our stays, so it would not reflect poorly on him or the property. His behavior caused us significant inconvenience, emotional distress, and financial uncertainty during an already difficult time.
10. Essentially, Eric forced us to go into the Marriott system and delete each booking one by one, knowing he would not allow us to stay. This process was confusing, time-consuming, and extremely stressful, as we were scrambling to find alternative lodging while trying to avoid unnecessary charges.
9. Because of Eric’s false claims and decision to ban us from the property, we were forced to spend hours trying to fix our upcoming reservations. He did not cancel them himself but instead instructed other staff members not to check us in. This meant that if we didn’t manually cancel each reservation, we would have been charged for every night we were scheduled to stay.
8. If the parents had truly damaged the room or any common areas throughout the hotel, why wasn’t this mentioned at checkout on July 22, 2025, or brought to their attention on July 23, 2025, when they were invited to the employee barbecue? Why wait until July 25, 2025, at 6:03 p.m., the night before the family was due to return for a multi-day stay?
6. What Eric Fung seemed to take issue with was that our toddler discreetly urinated on the cement floor outside near a tent while their parent was briefly grabbing a to-go food plate — not realizing the child had pulled down their pants to relieve themselves. Eric then used that minor, unintentional incident to fabricate false claims about supposed room and property damages that never occurred, in order to deny our family’s return for our next booked stay.
5. This experience has caused serious hardship for our family. We lost reliable lodging near my work and medical care, suffered financial stress, and faced discrimination after our child’s innocent mistake. We have filed complaints with the NY State Division of Human Rights, the Attorney General’s Office, and Consumer Protection, seeking justice, transparency, and accountability from Marriott.
4. On July 28, 2025, at 4:40 p.m., we met with Mr. Fung in person. He refused to show us the alleged damaged room, offered no written proof, and even accused us of other hotel damage without presenting evidence. When we calmly questioned the contradictions, he threatened to call the authorities instead of resolving the issue.
3. Just two days later, on July 25, 2025, at 6:03 p.m., GM Eric Fung called and accused our family of making our hotel room “smell like urine.” He claimed the carpet “had to be torn up” and said we were banned from returning—the call came the night before our scheduled multi-day reservation, forcing us to find another hotel last minute. That same evening, my husband went to the property and employees confirmed that new guests were already checked into the same room, proving the claims were false.
2. On July 23, 2025, after 4:30 p.m., we returned to the hotel to check on our car, unaware that a staff barbecue was happening nearby. Several employees, including General Manager Eric Fung, invited us to join. While we appreciated being included, our 3-year-old, who had just turned 4 and is already potty trained, understands how to use the restroom but had a small accident near an outside tent because there was no restroom nearby for a toddler. They tried to urinate discreetly outside but were quickly judged for their actions. We immediately apologized to staff, including the housekeeping manager, and attempted to apologize to Mr. Fung, who had already left.
1. On July 22, 2025, my family checked out of SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Westchester County, NY, where we had been staying regularly and felt comfortable. We were given permission by management to leave our vehicle on-site while resolving DMV issues and maintenance and planned to return later in the week.
