I don't think that would work, is that lead? if so it's pliable, not strong like steel, might get you by until you replace the gear though πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

what kind of alloy is that? what temperament are those machine screws? because for this repair to last, the screws should be grade 8 and idk what kind of alloy but would need to be as strong as the steel it's replacing...

If the β€œoriginal” casting’s teeth broke how can these new ones of a softer metal be a real FIX? Not possible but i can appreciate the craftsmanship and work that was put forth in tho in vain.
