I dealt with a similar situation over 30 years ago when I was in high school, so I see say leave this young man alone and let him express his beliefs. He's not being disruptive, but the teacher is.

I feel freedom of speech should be allowed ( as guaranteed by the Constitution ) for everyone, democrats, Republicans, Democrats, religious, non-religious as long as it’s not hateful, nor promoting violence.
