the handle has something called an- Automatic shut of system, activated by low pressure when the pump turns off, gravity flow isn't allowed by safety rule regulations. this is just an inconvenience to others using the station.

Now that's just stupid.Lift the hose at the end.The hoses full of gas It doesn't matter how far away you park. I'm glad you paid attention in science class, just lift the hose all the fuel drain out..

that hose holds more than that bud, but that doesn't matter because, the shut off is built into the bottom of the handle.

I drain the hose every time and I know that there isn’t that much in the hose. Not even close.

so when you click off the nozzle ... you think the gas in the hose still goes into your car.

Just push the paddle up where you get the nozzle from and squeeze the trigger while holding it up. That drains the hose.

then lift the hose

used to know a guy who used to drive his vehicles until it went empty, then would walk to nearest pump & fill a dew bottle up w/fuel & walk back to car & fill up. used to know another guy that would put a dime worth of gas in his 1939 Plymouth 4dr.

I always have them open the pump, instead of prepay. because prepay slows down and trickle out fumes before you hit the amount. And after it I'm done, I stop the pump and raise the hose to get the rest of the fuel from the line. 💯 now yu know. 😉

How about: there’s already that sitting in the hose! Whatever you pump is correct.

avator

If the pump shuts off you can hold the nozzle open and it drains all the fuel from the hose! duh!😆😆😆😆😆😆

avator

Just pick the hose up to get the extra gas left in the hose!

How the automatic shut-off really works: It’s not triggered by low pressure when the pump turns off. Instead, it uses a vacuum (Venturi) system: Inside the nozzle tip is a small sensing hole. While fuel is flowing, air is pulled through that hole. When gasoline in your tank rises and covers the hole, airflow stops. That creates a pressure change (vacuum) inside the nozzle. The nozzle mechanically clicks off instantly. That’s why it shuts off even if fuel is still flowing from the pump motor. When you let go fuel flow stops immediately. A spring-loaded internal valve closes and the hose stays sealed. This prevents fuel from continuing to flow or draining out.

Once you release the trigger it stops the flow at the handle, doesn't matter how much is left in the hose 🤣🤦

2 years ago I might have been all about it, but gas near me is 2.30s. I remember just 3 or 4 years ago, diesel for my work truck was about 8 a gallon. Add a slip tank in the back, and we had to take all the monetary limits off.

This may be believable but to the wise, if every individual go that route, how many folks will be in conflict and scratches. Avoid stress and added difficulties doing a simple task of the day. Smh!

My brother and his friend worked at a gas station when they were 16 years old , They would shake all the hoses at end of shift , once inventory was done and they locked up the place they went cruising in cars...
