This happened in Volusia County Florida. The guy's name is Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, he had been in the country illegally since 2016, and the day before this incident he applied for asylum. The woman called 911 and pretended to order a pizza, the dispatcher tracked her location, and the Deputy Sheriffs arrived to him actively trying to rape her. Thankfully he was charged with attempted sexual battery, strangulation, false imprisonment, and the US Border Patrol put an immigration detainer on him. I know it happend in October of 2024 but I can't seem to find any trial updates or anything.
