pretty sure he is cleaning the oil. You can actually use water mix with cornstarch, I know water and oil doesn't work but it will clean it up.. look it up.

She’s cleaning the grease isn’t she ?? Maybe it is fried mustard on a stick. Who knows. If she is cleaning her oil, I used cornstarch mixed with a bit of water….yes water. You definitely have to be careful doing it my way but man does it ever clean dirty oil that way.
