That’s heartbreaking! They just don’t stay long enough nowadays. I remember when I was little, my uncle had a dog that was close to 25 years old and only had 3 legs and got the zoomies!!! I’m nursing one of mine now who is 12 and has diabetes.

I would take the blanket off of him so he doesn't suffocate. I remember when I was a small child, I became wrapped up in blankets and felt like I couldn't breath. My mother unwrapped me and I was fine.

You should assist Piper uncover so he can greet Mommy. This shows them that they can rely on you. I assisted my first German shepherd with getting up when he laid down in a specific way. He was a rescue who had been abused when I took him in. He lived till the age of 17 .
