very few vehicles today come with a manual transmission requiring a clutch. but you could do something similar to the brake pedal (required to be engaged for vehicle to start) although a plastic bottle could easily be cut off so you need to invest in something a little more secure if you're going to do it at all.

that is just stupid. plastic bottle will flex as you press on it. not giving true accelerating. Better to attach a 1x4 or 2x4 so feet will reach it. My dad did that with 2x4s so I could drive his truck to run errands for him. I was 8/9 years old then. It also was a 3 speed with a columb shift.
