When I had my kids in the early 70s car seat, it definitely wasn’t up to today standards. They got in the car lifting the bar up and sit down and pull the bar back down over them😳when my-grandchildren were born 💕I couldn’t believe how much they changed the standards👍🏼then when the great grandchildren came omg✌️🙏❤️😉even safer 💕

you should never put a bulky coat on a child in a car seat because the bulkyness can make the straps too loose to protect the child. apparently they can slip out if the straps are looser due to bulkyness.

Oh reason take off the coat so you know there a child in the car but I hope it help because while you are driving and thinking something else and when you get home and get out of the car and take stuff with you and then you forget your child. I am just saying.
