The same thing happened to me. When I had my second baby, the doctor was in a nasty mood because he had to come to the birth at 5:00 a.m. Stitched me up and walked out of the room. No congratulations. No acknowledgment. Nothing. I had to ask what the sex of my baby was. I have to say, that really hurt. Had I decided to have another baby, he would be the LAST on my list of obstetricians!

what makes the difference as long as the baby is healthy and at this point, staff looks busy trying to help that baby survive. what was she going to do if it wasn't a girl? good grief 🤔
not sure about all the laughing and chatter in the background, but the baby is choking, lips and face partial blue, nurses need better equipment as the little squeeze ball does not seem to help her. sorry mamma had such bad treatment by dr.🌸🌸🌸🌸

and then when someone made a comment about the baby being black and that's why I didn't they didn't say it was a boy or girl. that is so stupid because the baby is white not that it makes any difference

My OB was pissed because he didn’t have time for breakfast - would go out to nurse’s station to grab a few bites. Told me not to push. Well, my 3rd son was ready - doc stuck his own hand when giving me a shot before episiotomy. (Natural birth)So he had a numb hand. Was so pissed he turned around to leave and got caught in the curtain. Barely missed my husband with the hypodermic still in his ‘good’ hand. And he still had shaving cream on his ear. This was 37 years ago. We still laugh about it when his birthday comes around.

My 3rd child had a girl's heartbeat , sonogram wasn't clear enough to determine the gender and I carried it like a girl , even during the birth the doctor and nurses kept saying "she" , when "she" was born I looked at the doctor and said it's another boy ain't it ???? He laughed and said "yea you had me fooled " because I told him it was a boy all along .😆
The first words that came out of my mouth-is it really a boy! He had his hand on it during the ultrasound!

The infant should have been suctioned and cleaned before it was given to the mother!! If there were issues, they should have been dealt with, clean the infant and hand it to the mother telling her what the child is

This happened to me with my 2nd. I had to ask because nobody said anything. I think they assume everyone knows the gender at birth. Mind you I had my kids in the 90’s.
