one time I was doing plumbing in a yard and could not find a water line that was supposed to be there. my boss sent out an old man that he knew, and he stepped out of the truck with two rods and walked around and they sure as shit crossed and he said its right there. was about 11inches away from where he said

I've watched men do this with Copper wire at oil will drill sights and they get it every time. I won't even pretend I can explain it but something some how works and the oil companies pay big money to have these guys come out and do their thing.

The failures are often forgotten, and only the times the rods "worked" are remembered, creating a false belief in their accuracy. it's called confirmation bias

This is cool, I use this technique a lot with irrigation. . what's also cool is the moon cycles and learning the technique that relies on the moon cycles

Works better with copper pipe as a handle and a skinny metal rod inside

I just seen someone doing this a month ago on the side of the road. I thought to myself " wow, that dude is getting paid to nonchalantly twist metal rods"
