So the guy nails the tabs on the board nails the siding above the tabs but is able to slide the board down effortlessly something doesn't make sense

I learned how to do shake from a old guy in his 70s and the one thing you have to do is leave a gap between each piece other wise it will buckle when it swells after a ran or freeze
