I took one of my cars to to car wash years ago and the guy wiping the excess water was wearing an exposed belt. The buckle scratched through the paint. I was unable to prove it for certain?, so I ha to get that part repainted. it was a brand new car.

my husband took my perfectly clean car through one of these and scratched the living crap out of the clear coat, when we were first dating. he said he was going to get it hand polished, to fix it. that should have been my first clue what a liar he is
probably a Toyota.. they use cheap paints.
That's what car washes that use the brushes do to every car. It just shows up worse on black cars. Just think about what it's doing to the clear coat on your car... Like a thousand little pieces of sand paper. Especially the older ones

I used to work at a dealership in delivery. The client didn’t take the $100000 Yukon because the towels used on the black Yukon did exactly this 😆
That doesn’t look like it was the car wash because the swirl marks are circular. I’d say it was probably the owner using a bad rag or waxer. Looks to me like they should START taking it to the car wash
all this proves is that paint and enamel quality are zero compared for 50 years ago. all that money for a cheap paint job that scratches with a cloth slap.
