If he had stood in church during testimony and confessed, that removes the confidentiality mandate of the church. As the 1st Lady, she also opened herself and the pastor up to be sued personally. If he confessed to a murder, she might be considered as an equal to the pastor if they consider her as a Co-Pastor. Thus making it illegal for her to even call police based upon the clergy-penitent law.
