It’s so sad to see these good wasted at the end of the day. When I see this, I say, “ GOD” please, forgive them. There is a policy they need to follow. I say to mom when I see this, mom I feel so sad and bad. She replies, it’s a health issue. If they get sick, they can come back and sue the company. You try to help by feeding them, but you are between a wall and a law suit.

My second job I worked at Kentucky fried Chicken, one of my friends'Dad worked at the salvation army. A Kentucky fried Chicken gravy potatoes fries come in 5 gallon in buckets and in the evening shift everything had to be thrown away so I parked my car very close to the trash container. I loaded up my trunk probably 3 months. brought all excess food headed to the dumpster to his dad. somehow it got to the original manager and I was fired very quickly... I completely understand where you're headed with these donuts. thank you for doing what you do... 🎊😁👍🎉 🤠

McD refuses to give extra food to homeless. Said they would not be held responsible if someone got sick😆WTF?? You’re selling this food to the public 😆😆😆

I was leaving Dollar General last Sunday after church. I looked over at the trash and thought I saw dog food. It was all this food with the dates of expiration anywhere from 9/26 through 12/26. Of course I got as much as I could and called family members with children to do the samething. My mind immediately went to, why can’t these stores give this food to homeless shelters or the food banks? Of course the word “sue” came to mind. The store had to throw out the food because their freezer went out! It’s a shame they we as Americans love to sue. Because I believe if it wasn’t for that these stores would give the food to the needed and not the rodents!

unfortunately, you can be fired for this. It's so unfair that companies would rather trash food than feed humans

Years ago we used to do that when I worked for Dunkin’ Donuts on Cape Cod and then someone brought some to a nursing home and a diabetic got a hold of them. It was the nursing home’s fault not Dunkin’ Donuts but they complained and then after that Dunkin’ Donuts no longer gave any donuts away free they put them all in the trash.!! I was so angry it was not Dunkin’ Donuts’s fault. It was the responsibility of the nurse or CNA on duty to make sure that the diabetic didn’t get the donuts not Dunkin’ Donuts and because of that everybody else got punished!!Not fair!! What do you think? ??

the owner owner of the ones up here, will fire the help for this. He claims it's stealing & would rather see the stuff in the trash. The 1 I worked at in a different state, use to do this all the time. The stuff was boxed up & given to food pantries as donations. if there was a working fire, we would put together boxes of coffee, creamers etc & boxes of Donuts & take them to the Firefighters at the fire

All restaurants should be able to do this. It’s better than watching people dumpster dive for food

sorry I agree with this person but he's bagged and has it sitting on the counter not put near any dumpster ! These days we have alot of homeless ok people and all left overs shouldn't be thrown away they should help the homeless and food shelters instead of throwing on garbage ! I see this happen in grocery stores with the baked goods they just bring garbage can out and throw the food in the garbage and it's wasted they don't even mark the stuff down ! I always buy marked down food ? nothing wrong never get sick ? it could put a lot of smiles on people and children's faces take that hungry feeling away !!I do know churches that have hit food for homeless they get whatever a store hasnt sold in bakekery gets took to church and is offered free which is usually two tables full and all is gone when lunch is over ! 🙏❤️🙏🏻Amen

These restaurants need to change their policies. One day old food is prime, compared to throwing good food in dumpsters. Sad, what a waste, and it could feed so many people who are hungry.

only because there are ones that are homeless at all when it got given to the shelters that sued the companies and they couldn't handle all those claims against them it's not that the corporate people are insensitive but they got sued by homeless and other ones that got it from the shelters they do care but they also know their attorney had to make it to where people can see them

I worked at a nursing home for many years and if they found out you donated left over food the kitchen supervisor fired you. It could not be given to the poor hungry employees!! It had to BE TRASHED.

I worked at Dunkin Donuts before and they would not let us keep or give away the donuts at the end of the day! That's really sad and I hated to have to throw them away ! But it was considered stealing if we wanted to take them instead of throw them out...

I worked 2 full time jobs and would get home late. I still had the job of cleaning and going over homework of my kids. A little store down the street from my house cooked several meals daily. Someone told them the many hours that I worked. Everyday we had a full course meal. I was so thankful and blessed to have such good neighbors. My kids didn't have to fall asleep while I was fixing a meal for them.
