Ok we do and every American should remember that the Democrats passed the voting rights act the Civil rights act elected the first black president. Put the first Latino on the Supreme court the first black person on the Supreme court Had the first black woman as Vice President. And the reason Republicans didn't want slavery in other states not because they cared about black people they didn't want slaves because they knew slaves would take their jobs because of no labor cost to employees. If they thought they could keep their jobs despite slavery they would not have cared.
