I mean, if you’re going total 50s housewife, you have to include the allowance for new dresses, hats, makeup, and hairdressers, in addition to groceries. There should be a written contract since some men WANT what they can’t afford! “Room and board” is not enough. There is a reason they say happy wife, happy life. I truly believe that it is both the parents job to keep a clean house , a nicely landscaped yard, maintenance on the house is BOTH of their jobs. Although keeping it tidy. Should be the job of whoever isn't working 40+ hours a week.
