Not much stops a sniper round. Then add in the type of bullet being fired and it could make your average AR or AK go through as well. Point is unless you plan on dying don’t rely on armor to save you. It’s there as in case

What they teach you is funny. If you shoot the body mass and nothing happens, and the head is protected, shoot the legs, hands, ankles, and feet. A sharpshooter or marksman should be able to adjust fire for maximum damage once the target gets hit in any of those areas. You can have all the body armor you want. A round placed right will drop you to your knees. Take off a hand, two legs and you're just laying there terrified, waiting for the final round.
