Do you guys remember the old wash machine that had the rollers to ring out the water?
my grandma used 9ne of these. Took the hot embers from the fireplace or cook stove. Also did this with bedwarmers in the winter. And to keep from going outside to the outhouse at night, used a chamber pot
wow I'm glad I missed that decade of life
we called it a goose.
my Grandma was the same way, She would not use a washer and a dryer! She wanted me to I do the same thing, But I would hide, and do it! lol, Godbless You Grandma, she also had to have her sheets ironed before making the bed, So to v make her happy, That is what I Did, and I took care of her, She passed away in her bed with cleaned v iron sheets, wich I changed several times a day and night, and packed her to the bath tub several times d as y and night, I wanted her happy, she was always so good to me, Godbless all our Grandma's🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍💕💕🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💕💕🌸🌸💕🌸🌸🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🌸🌸🌸

The direction the world's situations are heading we all should get one of these just in case if you know what I mean!
My grandmother had a familiar iron. It wasn’t where she could put colon into it, but it was solid. She had to put it on top of fire and then let it. I guess get to a certain temperature she will iron and she ironed her tablecloths hurting her cloth napkins, her apron, my grandpa‘s underwear that was a ironing womanand a very smart one. This lady here reminds me of her. They always had a smile on her face very obedient to God and a very, very kind and given person. I miss her so much but she did live to get to 103 thank you.
burn any clothes?
I remember the mine my grandmother used to have one
wow for real😳😳😳😳🥰
My grandmother had irons that she set on the wood stove to heat. She would always sprinkle the clothes with water as she pressed them.
I use to play with those old irons when we would go visit my great Aunt. Everytime.
I can relate my GMA was solid iron n she would sit hers on the stove 2 get hot
My grandma had one back in 1917.
Great idea Grandma.
I remember these non-electric irons. Not the same model, but they dusn't operate the same way.
that iron must be at least 100years old
So did he buy her an Electric??
Yep! Old fashioned doesn't earn the disrespect that modern folks call the, " I wouldn't own one if you paid me!" The truth is known as the old gadgets, never break down!To this day, I still use a hand held cultivator to break up the ground for the new planting season. It always works well, and I tire out before the hand tool will!!!
She is a sweetie. I wish I had her as grand mother.
hey that iron probably worth some money
I’ll go find grandmas real page and like it from there and not on your page begging us for likes of someone else’s hard work
I did what she does. my greatgrand-ma showed me how to do it.she let me iron the way she taught me. I am 77now , and I wish my greatgrand ma and greatgrand pawas still here so I can be with them and do the old way. I miss them so very much.i am gonna come soon greatgrand ma. love you both still.
She's a true warrior God bless her
Very soon we’ll get back to this thread
I never knew that before
😲😲😲🤔🤔👍👍
My grandma had one but we would heat it on stove
They also used to put hot coals into a pan frying pan with a lid on it to heat up your bed before you went to bed
my grandma had a house where the charcoals used to be dropped off in the cellar and we had to go down and put it in the furnace to heat our house and we had to bleed the radiators
remember.
It’s good that some things have improved!
I has one didn't know how it works
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Never saw this before
I've got to iron just like that that belong to my nanny
It is called a pressing Iron I am 83 so I know
Might even be better than electricity
I did the same thing when I was little and I'm only 65
smoothing iron. my grandma had one. really heavy, did a great job. 2 hot for polyester though.
I have seen one of these clothes iron😳it was heavy. Wow! Thank God for improved technology.
When I was growing up, my mom used to iron clothes like that.
Outstanding
Amazing
I grew up using the scrub board and heating the iron on the wood stove, and we bathe in the same galvanize tub that was used for laundry, now this was in the 40s 🙏
I have an iron like that. Got it from my grandparents' home when they passed away.
Great Grandma is smart 🤓🙏🙏💕
That’s so cool
Could be this way again… hopefully we have coal for warmth to.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Some of this will be coming back soon.
