Crazy that they would rather throw it away than let the workers eat it. I worked at a Hampton Inn where the owner would literally make us bag it up and put it in the fridge so he could take it to the homeless….🤔🤔

I know exactly what this is like and I don't understand why we aren't allowed to either take it home for our family or to give to someone who needs to eat today!! I worked at a place that did this and it was hard for me to throw perfectly good food away especially when I had no money until my check came in 2 weeks later. I would almost start crying because I was throwing away food that could have fed my family or someone else that needed it.

heartbreaking but so true. I worked in a major hotel and it was criminal the disgusting waste of prepared food that was thrown away daily. The one thing that obstructed the hotel was to get a hold harmless paperwork.
I know some Dunkin owners make you douse things in bleach before toss it.. another ex employer of mine did the same thing .. said it's a liability,if someone gets sick..... I think it's stupid but I understand why they won't donate...and unfortunately some employees at my old job would deliberately make extra food and claim no shows so they could take the food home after shift/ closing.. the owner said come to him he will help but he lost so much he fired those people and made us pour chemicals and put signs up .

I used to do inventory and FAFO at one of my old jobs. there were a ton of homeless people around the store. they would tell us to open the sandwiches.. fruit.. everything.. and pour coffee grinds on them before throng it in the trash. I couldn't bring myself to do that. i would leave it on is own bag beside the dumpster. They swarmed our store anyway. but when I was working, they respected me and our customers. win win.... I could not bring myself to destroy food that they would come in and steal anyway.. it happened ALOT less of any while I was there. and didn't cost us anything we weren't wasting anyway. sometimes you have to make the decision to be human. pray for that guy. 🙏🙏
now days if you gave food away all someone would have to say I got food poisoning then their a lawsuit. Can't trust no one now days even if they are homeless. Throw it away and let them have it no lawsuit
