I know exactly what this is like and I don't understand why we aren't allowed to either take it home for our family or to give to someone who needs to eat today!! I worked at a place that did this and it was hard for me to throw perfectly good food away especially when I had no money until my check came in 2 weeks later. I would almost start crying because I was throwing away food that could have fed my family or someone else that needed it.

businesses are greedy and they would rather throw away food than give it to the hungry .. now on the flip side ..if they give to the hungry and and someone gets sick they are liable for a lawsuit so because a large percentage of people are not thankful businesses have to protect themselves..now if it was a thing as to where business takes the leftovers to a shelter and have a honest board of health at these nasty shelters which need to be clean and are not food could be checked and served to those in need ..I am summarizing but a solution legally could be made and businesses would get a tax deduction but no one thinks that far just in the business of making and taking..hope he didn't get fired for showing his face
