This is why I always back into my spot. Because people will always drive or walk behind you seeing your brake and backup lights on when backing out into a blind spot. I have herd of people even staging getting hit by a vehicle backing up. And suing them.

Pedestrians in a parking lot should be more cautious...more blind spots in a vehicle and most times pedestrians would lose against a vehicle. Just be wise and stop to let em out and keep you and yours safe without the grief...

I always check before backing up! The headrest and the various points in the car do not allow me to see pedestrians as the walk behind or around my rear. I back very slowly, which allows me to break quickly as well!

Word of advice, ALWAYS LOOK FOR WHITE BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE BACK OF ANY VEHICLES. THOSE ARE REVERSE LIGHTS. AND ALWAYS LOOK BOTH WAYS. AS YOU CAN SEE NO LOVE , JUST PURE CARELESS FOR OTHERS..
