Did you go to South America to learn how to peel a banana?

Learned that when I was a young teen, living in Hawai'i...my mom also had this round pineapple-cutter thing divided into 6 wedges that you could twist down into your pineapple and then pull it up and voila! Then we would scrape the cavity with a soup spoon to get all the bits left behind and drink the juice...pineapples in Hawai'i are way different than what you get stateside (they are actually ripened on the plant)...you could stop at any field and buy a pineapple for 25 cents...the good old days!
