My daughter (who’s African American) worked at a food place in the mall as a teen. One day she had two Japanese male customers who were talking about her in Japanese while they were in line. When it was their turn for her to take their orders, they were still talking about her and then she spoke to them in Japanese. She said they blushed and smiled and started bowing to her. They were talking about how cute she was and they were embarrassed and shocked that she knew what they were saying. 😂 🥰

I was on a ladies trip to Puerto Vallarta, MX one year, and one of the ladies was a white chick, blonde, blue eyes, born in Texas but had lived all her life in Mexico City, completely fluent in Spanish and English.. The stupid guys at the hotels front desk were saying some really stupid things about her, but she chose to keep quiet until she had enough and then told them she spoke Spanish and talked with the manager all in Spanish!! To say they were shocked is putting it mildly!!😂 Be careful, you never know…

I was with a friend who had her wheelchair extremely damaged by Airport staff, and I had watched it happen. She used the control to send it off the left right outside the plane. It dropped all the way to the ground The one attempted to cover her actions, but the one with us told her in Spanish I had seen it. When my friend filed her damage claim, she repeated everything they had said, but in English for me to understand, to the claims department. They had literally been going on about her being a "defect" and there'd be no problem. She turned to their shocked faces and said, "this 'defect' speaks French too. Do you want to hear "you're fired" in French? "

be careful that language barrier might not always be there. I was working with some day labor on my brother's job site and they were having a lengthy conversation about how stupid they thought he was and while I can't claim to understand all of what they were saying I understood enough to ask them exactly who they were talking about and saying the things they said which I repeated back to them in English they quickly changed their tune and didn't talk shit in front of me anymore. I thought it was funny cause I honestly felt the same way about him that day so I just kept it between us and he never knew about it while that job lasted. I told him about it awhile later. I think he's learning more Spanish now just to keep up with the labor crews that he might encounter.

when I was working one nite and we had a new CNA who was a guy and he spoke English and Spanish and only one person knew what he was saying when he spoke Spanish which was his CNA girlfriend and, well our charge nurse asked him to speak English around his coworkers because he made us uncomfortable not knowing what he is saying and he said okay

A two years ago I was showing my house. My son has been a very bad car accident. I was spending all my time in the hospital with him. Never having time to clean my house. It really wasn’t in the best condition to sell a house in. But I didn’t care I had bigger things to be concerned with. I’ll never forget when the Spanish couple came to buy my house. The wife turned her husband and son this lady must be lazy. Her house is so dirty. Hahahahaha Hahahahaha in English. I apologize for my house being so dirty. And then in Spanish, I said it’s because I don’t spend much time here. I’m in the hospital all the time with my son. The way she looked at her husband she look like she wished he could crawl into a whole. She certainly didn’t expect this 80 year old, white woman, woman to speak, or understand Spanish. Hahahahaha
