if her aunts in the nursing home then the nursing home should be getting them checks. well my grandfather was in the nursing home they took all his money His social security check his pension checks.
I know when my mom had passed away she actually passed in September because she passed away a few weeks after my daughter was born and Mommy passed away I believe September the 2nd are the 3rd and because she lived for two days in that month they let her have that check and she happened to die after she had received it. but after that no checks were sent ever again.
Correct I’m unsure how someone could be cashing someone’s Social Security check as the death certificate would go directly to Social Security and therefore stop those checks if a check was to be received after the fact it would have to be paid back that’s my understanding

our son thinks he's going to get are social security checks when we passway. I laughed at him. told him it not going to happen. he said that's not right. I told him that's my money. I worked for it, it's mine. he is self employed. I told him he better start paying 13.4% in to social security. otherwise you aren't going to get it.

Sometimes the scammers keep the body on site in a freezer. There is a ‘death’ match for all programs but it takes years to catch up. Most government IT programs are legacy systems from the 1980’s. It will take billions of dollars and years to update.

Social security was notified of my mother’s death and not only did they keep paying her monthly check but raised the amount! I had to keep it all in a savings account until we could get it worked out and they stopped the payments because I knew they would demand all of it back - and they did.

When my husband died on the 4th of the month, his Social Security was deposited on the 15th. I paid all our monthly bills and on the 17th the money was taken back by Social Security. I ended up with $3.21 in my checking account for that month.

Maybe the thieves aren't getting paper checks from the Government. Maybe they go directly into a checking account. No one is actually "cashing" them. The social security administration is now authorized to use the matter death list as a way to cancel payments when people die. It hasn't always been this way. I know people that I suspect are still doing this. Dont know for sure so I'm not accusing anyone. No accountability for anyone in Government who violates the rules. No incentives for anyone in Government who comes up with a better way to do things. Apparently if there is no law that specifically says you can't do it then it is legal.
