My HOA horror story in Fort Myers FL: Hurricane Ian wiped us out and destroyed my condo, all the contents, and my car. Consequently, when we were trying to get insurance help, our HOA actually stole 20% of each persons insurance money to hold in a kitty just in case another hurricane came by. Without asking the owners!!!
