It's the bus driver's birthday so each student is giving her $1.00. I moved to Michigan a few years ago and learned this is a tradition. People give you a dollar or more on your birthday and you wear the money pinned to your shirt. I think this is what's happening. It doesn't have anything to do with the students paying for fuel or transportation. The students are celebrating the driver's birthday. Look at the joy on the driver's face. 🥰

It could also be a field trip, and the driver is collecting field trip money🤷🏾‍♀️ Since there is no info, we are all just assuming, so no need to get upset when you are literally creating a possible scenario in your head.
